Victoria B.C.

Just a few weeks ago we took at quick trip to Victoria B.C.  We left Port Angeles on the ferry and had a little excursion.

Hanging out in a donut shop with a really huge chicken in their window.

We had a little time to burn in Port Angeles before we needed to get on the ferry, so we walked around and shot some pictures.  We found a tsunami escape route that would lead the residence to higher ground.  The kids ran up and down the ramps numerous times.  Some are a little blurry, but they were running at lighting speed!  The kids loved driving the car on the ferry and then going upstairs.

The girls at the stern of the ferry right before it was to dock in Victoria.

These gardens are absolutely amazing.  Dave being a landscaper was even more amazed than I!  The kids were not into the gardens quite as much.  They did last a while and loved running around on all the paths and taking turns (fighting about) photographing everything.

This was the transition from the Japanese garden to the Rose Garden.  The effect made me feel like I was in the secret garden!

Impressive Foxgloves!!

Dave and the girls walked to the "Craigdarroch" castle that really isn't a castle.  I hung out at the nice quiet hotel room while Cooper took a nap.  They said it was really cool and huge!  Great descriptive words from my 12, 11 and 8 year olds.

We took a short tour of their Parlement building.  Dave and Cooper took an even shorter tour.  He lastest about three minutes.  The architecture was incredible.
This was a beautiful, clean city.  We ate at a really "green" cafe,  had really expensive gelato, swan in the pool, walked and walked and walked some more.  Saturday morning I woke up with Cooper and walked him around downtown Victoria.  Not a lot is open on Saturday morning at seven!  We loved seeing new places and only had one barf!
